"here's some science y'all....
montools.com shows 51 minutes downtime on dot5hosting---for the entire year of 2011!
All these negative complaints about down time are unjustified. Tech support web chat response time was about a minute or so a few days ago.
I've been with them a few years (4 domains, just added another last week) and I am fine with their service, admin features, performance, pricing.
Like another reviewer said, maybe dot5hosting works just fine if you know what you're doing.

"I was pleased at first until I decided to build another website. I purchased the domain registration, then found out that if I want to build the second website using their website builder software, I was to pay additional money. First, I was quoted "$12 per month of additional fees." Then, I was quoted "$12 per year." This wouldn't have been a problem except that this was not mentioned on their website. The only thing that was mentioned was "Unlimited websites." Unlimited everything--except that you have to pay. An ethical company would make sure to mention the additional fees. I am currently waiting for the "90 money back guarantee." It's not clear if I will get all of the money back. "

"I think all the positive reviews are being submitted by WebHostingPad employees themselves.
I had read all the web reviews for WebHostingPad before signing up for them. After one year, I dropped WebHostingPad because of poor service and almost no support. Servers constantly kept going down.
Moreover, they attempted to charge me for renewal even though I had cancelled. These guys are crooks.
Also, if you notice -- all the negative reviews are rated as unhelpful by several people. While positive reviews are rated as helpful. Clearly, this is an indication that reviews are being stuffed."

I am one that is taking heed.
I was a click away from trying 1and1 but after reading these reviews decided NO WAY HOSEA!
So if you want to get more business, you should FIX YOUR MISTAKES so you will get good reviews."

JustHost
Justhost - dangerous company!!!! []

"My website designer set me up with hosting by
Justhost. He was an idiot! Don't ever use this
company if you rely on your website for any part
of your business or personal income!
There's down time almost every week - site and
email. Whenever I raise a ticket with them, they
wait until it's back up and then email with a
screen shot (sometimes days later). Technical
support are incompetent and rude - an unreliable
service.
They also took a payment from my credit card to
renew my SSL certificate, and then didn't bother
to renew the certificate on the site. They
didn't care about this and left me without SSL
over the Christmas period. Then they managed to
self certify, so it came up as untrustworthy,
they still haven't got this right.
Luckily they don't have my domain name so I can
move everything to proper dedicated hosting soon
- once I have a new website from a proper
designer."
