Backup system pretty much none existence. they couldn't provide a full image/backup system. example, system default in terms of file/folder permissions are set even after restore from backup.if you have a complicated website and to manually change each permission would be too difficult specially when your using a third party software which sets the permission at install. i made a backup of the whole website and did a restore and the permissions were changed.. the third part software has 20 folder and sub folder pluse files the manage the site.. to change each permission isn't feasible.. defeats the purpose of backup...

After three years of more or less satisfactory service, IX Webhosting has crashed and burned. Their vaunted uptime has never been 99%. They used to refund when they were down, but now they require the customer to document the down time to get a refund. WHAT? Am I supposed to try to load my page constantly for hours? They know when their server is down! Technical support turnaround is guaranteed to be more than 24 hours between Q&A. NEVER less. And they practice the old runaround, pointing fingers and sending me on wild chases. They are failing to deliver emails to me, bouncing them back to the sender. When I can, with great difficulty, obtain mail headers, they give me instructions like "get the server logs from Comcast". I asked Comcast and they said that they never provide such things to non customers. IX sends me an email, it gets through, and so they say there is no problem although I can prove that many emails do not make it. Tech support suggested I sign up for Google mail!

I've been with ixwebhosting for a few months now and I can tell you that my site goes down at least a few times a week. I have a forum installed and it sends me an email each time the forum is inaccessible. I've been getting about 5 of these emails a week! Also, when I upload a lot of files, the FTP server just hangs and then disconnects me. This is frustrating because I have to sit there and make sure all the files upload correctly. The tech support seems to be based out of India and they are rude and not always helpful.

Their email system SUCKS. I complained and was told that they are a hosting co and not a email co. I told them that they go hand in hand and that it is a service that you pay for with the site hosting. Many times very slow to load. When checking msgs, can only delete msgs on 1 page at a time or check marks disappear after going to next page and you have to review them again. They have a non existent spam filter and no matter how many times you blacklist an address, it just keeps coming. Also, 1st you ck it and hit blacklist, then, apply all rules. THEN, it is like watching water freeze while it processes. To delete blacklisted addresses, you have to do it 1 at a time. Can't just check and then delete. I have blacklisted over 1800 addresses. These spammers change their addresses so after a while it is best to just delete and start over.

I have been hosting with this company for over 2 years, and had continues problems. On the moment all of my 8 domains with them has been down since 4 days ago, so called overload, however is now even used up 5% of my allocated traffic and disk space. Sevral calls to the live help (located in some 3rd world country) only ended up with promises but no results, filled several tickets, but it seems their tech guys are either on holiday or just could'nt care to solve my issue. I am moving to a new host, not sure where, but i sure as heck aint staying with IXWEBHOSTING

I have been with them for 2 years, on a Pro-Unlimited plan, their highest, most expensive offer. It is supposed to offer me unlimited data storage, even the business plan below me claims to give 400G storage. However last month, for the first time in the 2 years I have been with them, my data storage went over 30G, and they SHUT ME DOWN! Said I was in breach of their Fair Use Agreement, said I was using too much of their resources. My site bandwidth was only using 600G of the 3500G BW given (also the first time in 2 years that my bandwidth went over 300G). They basically told be to delete my files to under 30G, or go look for another host~ During the 2 years, I have tolerated their downtimes, they have failed to give me 99.99% uptime, I retain all my corespondence about downtime and speed issues with them, so I am not making it up as I go. So don't trust what they tell you. You are paying premium price for small hosting accounts. If you are a big site, forget about considering them.
