iPowerWeb Customer Reviews

Don't Use iPowerWeb

The price may lure you in but the tech support is the absolute worst. Not only do they break your website for you but then you have to sit for ages on the phone only to end up speaking to an idiot. The live chat is also a joke because they still want you to CALL them...It's a frustrating ordeal to try and get them to fix what they break. Run away !!! I know I am!

Nightmare - Stay away!

These guys are horrible.. I've had bad times in the past but we can't take it anymore.. If I speak to 3 different techs, 1 will blame it on the DNS, 1 will blame it on the domain registrar, and 1 will have no idea what I'm talking about. This is all when the problem is at their end. We are experiencing an issue with our website currently where they had a problem with the storage that hosts our website files. It failed and none of the level 1 tech support monkeys knew about it. After 3 calls, they finally admitted something was wrong. It took more than 24 hours to get the website up and it's missing codes and has broken SQL statements all over. Stay away from this company. I don't know how it's still in business!

Stay away

It works while it works; and when it is down it is down. Today is Friday, evening prime-time and it is suddenly down, with no word when it plans to come back. Back in Nov-Dec'07 MySQL was down for half day every 3rd day. Customer&tech support is non-existent. After recent platform upgrade they changed my main login/pwd and I spent almost 3 weeks(!) trying to reach them and recover access to my site. Also, they "upgraded" Wordpress overriding my own install and config; as a result all my personal Cyrillic language blog content got encoded into unreadable blob. I am still staying with the service since I mostly host travel photoalbums linked via external URLs (also really lazy to move). Otherwise stay away.

Heaven turned into hell

Guess I should have known better right after they renewed a site I have with them without asking me first. I went to IPowerweb. almost a month ago and what seamed like a good deal on a two year contract with them for one website -- costing $200 has now turned into a $1000 fiasco. The lady asked me for my ccard info after I asked them to revert the site back to the one costing me less money: Dear Richard , Thank you for choosing our Professional Services Hourly, Professional Services Hourly; your order has been processed successfully: - Product: Professional Services Hourly, Professional Services Hourly- Amount of payment: $150.00- Date of purchase: 4/30/2008- IPOWER username: redwar2008 Please note: Most products, including hosting, will renew at theend of each billing period, and payments will be automatically processed at that time. For these products, no action will be required on your part to initiate the renewal.

Rest in Peace Ipower-Stay away

I have had Ipower web for about 6 years now. The first five were great. But after the second change to the new vdeck, which is NOT user friendly, pages cannot be accessed, they change your email account, their support level has gone down to ZERO, with one of my 'support tickets' being UNRESOLVED for the last 6 months. They took away a free feature and now charge for it,plus the unfriendly control deck and file mangement system is MESSY. I have major downtime where my pages are not availble to update and even view. This last year has been a nightmare. I am currently looking for a new host.

Stay away from IPowerWeb

The tech support email was polite but hardly get things resolved. A ticket takes days to get replied and the problem is still there. They often screwed up mySQL, making it unaccessible and later explained to you it was your query over the limit, only their second level support was able corrected it, after 3 to 5 days! Recently they performed a system migration for my account and deleted my 2,700 photo files. When I asked for restoration, their reply was "we do not keep the backup of deleted files for more than one week". It's a big joke that a web hosting company does not keep the backup for failure before a major system migration!

Stay away

When I first signed up for ipowerweb they seemed ok, but my site gets slower every day, and I cannot even access it sometimes. They must have way too many sites on one server. It takes me over an hour to connect to my database and my website with just 4 users and almost no images can take 1 minute to load. I will have to now move my website to a new server to make it worth my visitors/user's time. Please please please dont make the mistake of choosing ipowerweb. They make transitions to new servers that break your sites without telling you. They go into your websites and modify code hoping it'll keep it from breaking. I didnt even recieve Email notification before they broke my site to "Upgrade" Beware and stay away

Stay far away from ipowerweb

If you have a static website with a few pages and no traffic you might be okay with iPowerweb. If you need database access stay as far away as you can. Their support can't even help with you can't access the database or it is so slow it is unusable.

I POWER WEB STOLE MY MONEY

Here is my latest email to I Power. You 'renewed' my account on 1/25/08 and charged my card WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! I CONTACTED FINALLY VIA EMAIL & YOU CANCELLED AS YOU SAY 15 DAYS LATER! 15 DAYS IS WELL WITHIN 30 DAYS. YOU ROBBED ME. GIVE ME MY MONEY YOU THIEVES. I WILL GIVE YOU THIS ONE LAST CHANCE TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. REFUND MY MONEY. YOU CHARGED ME $166.80 & 15 DAYS LATER REFUNDED $26.45. HOW IS THAT NOT ROBBERY? $140 FOR 15 DAYS WHEN IT WAS YOUR FAULT THAT I WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTACT YOU DUE TO HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HOUR LONG WAIT TIMES ON THE PHONE! This is the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. 45 minutes waiting on hold via phone on 1/24/08 52 minutes waiting on hold via phone on 1/25/08 34 minutes waiting on hold via phone on 1/26/08 I've tried to chat online, no agent came to the chat box after 40 minutes! I'm calling the BBB & the police.
