Web Hosting Reviews, Ratings and Awards since 2004!
I have a simple wordpress theme business site. It experiences chronic slow loading, and frequent inability to load at all. iPage's support is always available, yes, but that doesn't help! They have blamed the slow loading on everything from a CGI shared environment to SQL database inquiries, to server farm problems. The last guy I talked to, when I asked him if it was ok that I pay for hosting but my site won't load, replied 'yes'. They don't have a clue or perhaps have grown too quickly. Either way, all I know is iPage's site always loads instantly, but not the sites of paying customers!

Initially PHP was not configured and I had to work with user support so the proper permissions were given to my account so PHP could be used. While support was helpful with this it should not have been necessary. Unknown to me the email forwarding options changed so I assumed I was getting no email, but then I found out that the forwards had just been dropped and the inbox for the sales account had a few hundred messages! Getting to my website took nearly a minute as the server was that slow. Trying to get into my control panel took even longer! I don't know what they are doing, but they already have my money so I'm going to have to take the loss and switch hosting companies.

First you'll be captivated the advertisements of ipage.. the price the offers are very very good. Then you ll get on it.. now you are a customer too! When you try to make some stuff for example connecting ftp and starting to file transfer..oh you ask yourself the first question - "was is a bit slow?" then try to reach sql server.. importing through http request makes you get up from your dream! never mind you organized all of the things and serve your site.. but dont be happy you'll not able to reach it :) if ipage wants you will if not you wont! also you will try to contact support services huh! ipage.com is also gone away :) joking aside i think they have all of a server requires to be.. but dns servers of ipage is not there some times they're walking out somewhere :) finally dont be stupid. just hire a hindian server basically it will be more afficient than ipage.. /note that i'm not an indian i m french living in turkey/

If you are not VERY IT savvy dont bother. As usual with this type of product they assume you know all about constructing a website! well if I did I would'nt use ipage, and I dont & that makes it impossible, I am writing this review insead of working on my website ... why ? can't get it to work. These companies need to employ someone who is IT illiterate to assess their Product , ( me perhaps) S.Smart

I would not purchase again at iPage. It is very hard to navigate. The website building drag and drop only drops two things in and the selction is weak. I wish I could change to another host but I am not sure how easy that will be. They are supposed to have a money back guarantee! I'll let ya know how that goes.

They claim unlimited bandwidth, but limit your file uploads to 10M. If you do audio of video, walk away and find a hosting service that actually means "unlimited bandwidth" when it promises it.

Day one - Domain wasnt set up, got a refund First week - had to contact support due to slow websites Second week - same again, slow sites Just after the 30 days A couple of sites were not available or were still trying to load after 5 minutes and so had no option but to go to another host. My previous hosts were hostgator and was with them for five years with no issues. Have since gone with hostpapa.com

Attempted to set up website - program wouldn't upload correctly - called customer support several times - finally asked to have account cancelled - after 1 day - they now say they will not release the domain name for a year....Terrible business relations...would never recommend them. NEVER - take your money somewhere else. I am shocked at such bad business practice.

I went with iPage because the price was right for someone who just wanted a personal blogging site. Boy, am I kicking myself now. Sometimes my site loads just fine, but other times it takes forever to respond. It's one thing to see a lack of responsiveness on occasion, but this is way too common. If you've got a site that you don't actually care about getting to or other people getting to, iPage is for you. As for me, I won't get fooled again. I'll stick with a company I've actually heard of before. It's worth a few extra bucks to have my website come up when I go to it.

I had a different host before, and decided to change over to another due to constant problems and issues. My move to this host was easy and completed with minor tweaks to the site (common with any move). I have 8 websites, and all seem to run fine with this host. I haven't had any problems overall with the sites functioning and being "up". My only complaints are their tech support, which is a complete hit or miss. You can either get a really good tech, or a one that just says.. its your problem or another companies problem (i.e. wordpress). There email services stink. I had set up a basic contactus email for each of my websites, and they do not work consistently. This results in missed business opportunities. So, I have had to use my internet service providers free email addresses to ensure proper service there. Overall, for the price its a good hosting service for basic blogs, websites, etc.
