iPage Customer Reviews

Page Load and Uptime HORRIBLE

The service is cheap and the interface is actually decent, BUT (and it's a big BUT) the page load time is horrible. Downtime is horrible as well. Once I built my website (simple informational site using wordpress), it seemed to be running very slow. I contacted customer support numerous times and they assured me everything looked good and was fine. Not being satisfied, I signed up for "pingdom" and set it to track my site every 5 minutes. Bottom line, page load time averaged >7 seconds (range was ~5 to 20 seconds). This is unacceptable. Anything over 2 seconds is a joke. Also, I began receiving warnings 2 or 3 times a day from pingdom telling me my site was down (usually for around 10-20 minutes spurts). In summary, stay away from this garbage service if you want your website to actually work. People will leave if your pages take too long to load. Spend an extra $2 bucks a month and get a reliable service. It's definitely worth it.

Over 150% increase in hosting charges for renewal 2012

READ THE SMALL PRINT? I set up a website for my daughter last May and paid £28.66 for a basic website - which is working well for her. Got an email confirming renewal payment of my daughter's website - £71.28 for the year!! No indication of an increase in payment was received. I was going to set up another website - glad I waited!! I will not be recommending IPage I will not purchase again I will be looking to move this website elsewhere for 2013!

Doing very well so far...

I had to switch from my mac.com hosting services since Apple is pulling the plug on these soon. I found mixed reviews about iPage, but I also found mixed reviews about many hosting places. So far, things have gone very well. Within one evening, I registered my site and transferred everything and had things up and running. No, my site is not very complex, but it was nice to have things work as hoped. Sunday evening, I was working with htaccess and somehow shot myself in the foot and ended up with my site displaying the "Internal Server Error." I placed a support ticket and it did not take long before things were fixed - yes, even on a Sunday afternoon - yes, it was even Mother's Day. So I must say, "doing very well so far..."

Purchasing web hosting plan’s rather easy!

I used to be searching for a completely new provider and situated iPage. The initial component that caught attention will be a very user-friendly website and very good rates! I'd a few issues moving this site over, but found their customer care exceptional. They brought me step-by-step online to acquire this site moved over. HIGHLY Recommended!!!

Cancel with no notice

Yesterday I sent an inquiry about my renewal fee that was not going to be until October (it is currently May), and they said my fee was going to go from $42/year to $108/year. I said that that was not something I was ok with especially for the minimal service that I was being provided and said that I did not wish to renew. Today I find out that they had permanently deleted my account and wanted to charge me $50 to reactivate it. While still having 6 MONTHS left on my year agreement, they cancel my site and left me scrounging around frantically trying to find a new hosting site to get my website back up immediately. Online live chat assistance was even less helpful than the e- mail assistance. Basically worst experience ever.

BUYER BEWARE!!

Very unethical business. Refund policy is not accurate. Also...they offer a lower price if you try to click off the page without purchasing...SCAM. And what the other reviewer said is true...it says you will be given the opportunity to review your purchase before it is completed then whammo...it has already charged you. My guess is the only positive reviews on here are made by ipage employees or owners. There is NO way their score is as high as it shows!!

READ THE TRICKY, TEENY, TINY SMALL PRINT!!!

Their advertised refund policy is bogus...read the teeny tiny small print!!! I don't remember it there when I purchased their hosting service but it is there now...even so, their tactics are questionable. I paid $114.80 and soon after decided I had gotten in over my head and requested refund. They only refunded $54.00???? After multiple attempts to get a reason for the partial refund, with responses that stated my answer to my secret question was incorrect...the EXACT same answer given in order to receive the partial refund,It became obvious it is a SCAM. I am guessing that is how they stay in business. The add ons I signed up for were for the sole purpose of promoting the page ...the page that never existed????????? I have filed a claim through Paypal...Also, noticed that they had already been posted for a renewal fee???? Thankful I noticed that...so canceled it. If you get scammed by these people and you used paypal be sure to check for other fees they have set up to take from you!

Billed when I had cancelled service

I was with this company in 2010-2011. About 6 weeks ago, they email me about my renewal. They wanted to renew me in April even though my actual sign-up date was in May. I went on the website after the renewal email to officially cancel, yet, they still billed me. I was on the phone to customer service no less than two times about the bill. Finally I had to change my card number and got a refund via my bank and not iPage. They also would not let me change my domain name after I changed my mind on the domain name. So I had no option but to kick them to the curb once my subscription ran out.

Whats the fuss about? I think ipage is good.

I hope I don't start experiencing the problems that these folks are mentioning. just knocked on my desk. I have two websites through ipage, and they are both awesome. They have tech support 24/7... and I use them at the drop of a dime. I remember a little aggravation on the first site, "gamestartstores.com" when i found out the weebly builder only let me build 6 pages at the base price... and forms were a little limmited, i think 5 fields max. But I worked around it and it was nice for the purposes of that site. Cool features with site badges, and marketing credits for adwords, and facebook, to let me get out there quick while an organic following builds. On my new site "allyoucanfranchise.com I opened up the premium builder, and I gotta tell you... to me... its worth it. I have unlimited pages, and all of the cool stuff I have access to now really keeps me busy. I even uploaded a cool Favicon, and my contact forms are way more detailed with unlimited fields.
