GoDaddy is an industry leader when it comes to incorporating different add-on services with regard to hosting in general. However, some of our visitors complain that GoDaddy order process became a bit confusing and annoying, especially when a load of other items appear in your shopping cart that you did not even want to buy. Of course, you do not have to buy these add-ons but GoDaddy definitely tries to push it to the point where you feel forced to buy them.

GoDaddy Customer Reviews

GoDaddy unreliable, poor technical support, 0 accountability

Godaddy is the absolute worst, I just had a customer service person fight with me to tell me the problem with our website is with the ISP not them...only to ask for (demand, since he refused at first) a manager who then disclosed that they were having problems with one of their serviers...that they know of it, but then can't guarantee when or if it will be resolved. WTF? I have a website that works sometimes but not all the time and they think that is okay? Word of advice for small business owners, GoDaddy is not user friendly and they can care less about how their problems impact your business/bottom line. I recommend finding a technically competent, customer service focused company, which clearly they are not.

Godaddy as fast as you can from Godaddy

After 3 years with another hosting company (who I thought was bad) I tried to move my account over to Godaddy only to find that they were worse than the company I was with. In my opinion, Godaddy spends way to much time trying to sell you services rather than making those services work well. They have the formula for success backwards and I suspect they will fall on hard times in the next decade as more and more people mover away from them to other web hosting companies were the focus is on service.

Don't use Godaddy

Word of advice for small business owners, GoDaddy is not user friendly and they can care less about how their problems impact your business/bottom line. I recommend finding a customer service focused company, which clearly they are not. That's what my company is currently doing and it's a hassle and expensive to move a website, especially when it has lots of fun features programming on the back end.

Run away! Shady business

Don't be fooled. Yes, GoDaddy is one of the cheapest hosting providers. But that's not everything. Cheap at what cost? Let me tell you what happened to us, because this can easily happen to anyone. I had a website that was up for a year and it had auto-renewal "protection" (which turned out to be a waste of money). One day, for some unknown reason, an auto payment didn't go through (not due to any fault of our own, in fact). They claimed they notified us, but after our own investigation, we determined that we didn't receive any e-mails, calls or letters. ONLY TEN DAYS after the payment failed to go through, they deleted the website. Note the operative word "DELETED"...not suspended. In fact, it was on my to do list to back up the website (I needed to export the contents from a CMS). But when I called GD I was appalled to find out that, not only did they fail to notify us of the billing problem, they said "autorenewal protection" was somehow turned off, and that they deleted the website. I can't think of any business in which recklessly destroying a company's intellectual property, over a billing issue, is considered an acceptable business practice. They didn't even wait 30 days and there was no warning. That ought to give any business sufficient reason to think twice. Now, they're claiming that in order to bring the website back from their own archives, someone has to "walk" from one building to the next and that, unfortunately, we have to pay over $100 for them to do that. To fix their own mistake. I have no choice to pay the money to get our data, as they're holding that hostage; but as soon as I get the data back, we're cancelling our service and switching to another hosting provider.

GoDaddy Support

Since 12/21/11 I have been dealing with slow GoDaddy POP3 Servers response. Different Offices and Different ISP's. I have reported it to GoDaddy and provided all the TRACERT and PING screenshots they requested. To my complete shock the deny the obvious timeout proof I have provided them and instead try to blame the mail Client or ISP. Their support staff is trained to not accept any responsibility and act as if GoDaddy servers are infallible. STAY AWAY FROM GODADDY.

GoDaddy E-Mail Hosting

Been using them with about 120 users. Constantly experiencing inbound server timeout errors with POP access. Their techsupport staff are "rude", ignorant and dismissive. Being an IT person myself, I would pity anyone that cannot speak the tech jargon when calling to complain since they are so arrogant and dismissive. Very disappointed in service and tech response. They will go out of their way to tell you it is not a Godaddy issue, when it obviously is. STAY AWAY FROM GoDADDY. Trying to see how we can move off of their e-mail hosting as I write this.

Wha' happened?

The service used to be fair, now it sucks. I called because my website was down and they were really rude. I finally convinced them that it was broken and they agreed it was on their end. I'm thinking it has to do with the owner, who is a real bad egg.

Waste of Time and Money!

Signed up for the 3 month offer using the "website tonight" platform. It's really too bad they didn't offer a free trial, because then I wouldn't even be leaving this bad review. So the cheapest offer was 3 months for $15, which isn't bad when you consider what you're getting as far as webspace goes (cheaper than some other similar sites for the storage space). The problem came when trying to use the website building software. Maybe it's because I have a mac, but the features were slow, lacking, not the easiest to navigate (had to google how to do some simple tasks). In the end I decided I was unhappy with the product (within the first day). GoDaddy does not offer any sort of refund (full or partial) for the product and once again I had to go to google to figure out how to cancel my account. Not sure how well their system works, because for days I've been getting welcome emails and auto-dialer phone calls! I will never recommend GoDaddy because there are no trial offers (they know their stuff sucks) and the prices in general are about what you find elsewhere if you shop around.

Extremely Rude

The customer service is horrible. I'm pretty computer literate but the tecnical support agent I spoke with today was very irritable, spoke to me in a nasty tone, and acted as if she couldnt wait to get me off the phone with her. I will be very relucatant to call them back again. For such a well known company you would think they would have a higher standard in customer service.

Choose a better host.

I once used godaddy as my primary host for due to lack of research. Their control panel is awful, ugly and difficult to navigate. They support internet censorship. After intense critisism for supporting the SOPA act they wrote a response stating they had changed their decision. Days after, they admitted in an interview that they had no intentions of changing their "official" position. They are over-priced. Compare their prices to better services such as HostGator and BlueHost. For domains, try name-cheap.com. They are intrusive. Just watch their television commercials. "You should use us because ... (hot girl appears). They don't understand their customers. (See SOPA mention above). Also, if you choose to let a domain expire (or some other non-renewal of service) -- they will email you at least a dozen "final notices" with no way to disable.
