GoDaddy Review

Waste of money, have their hand out at every turn and dont tell you that their crappy banners will be on almost everything you buy from them.

I started out with GoDaddy after suffering with "upscale" hosters in the beginning years who were too complicated and expensive and unresponsive for my noobie needs. Now that I've got some expertise, 20+ domains, and am making money, GoDaddy's features allow me to do what I need to. I've graduated to Adobe CS packages, and GoDaddy's tech support has just what I need for quick response for the tools I'm using. You can't beat a host whose PHP and MySQL works out of the box on the Unix platform. All my hardware is Apple-based, and its seamless with GoDaddy's products. I have tryed to use tens of email software ASP and PHP only 1 of them worked on GoDaddy. We have to switch to another hosting because non of the autoresponder script will work. Tech support is friendly but stupid. Only 3rd guy knew what to do with my issue. Others just kept telling me that I'm wrong.

Go Daddy has been wonderful to me, a beginner in web design. The customer service is excellent. They have been hosting my sites for about a year, and have never given me a single reason to look for another host.

Their website is cluttered and a little difficult to navigate but as far as dependability goes they are #1. I've been hosting multiple sites with Godaddy for three years and have never had to use their support team and my sites have never been down. I'm sticking with Godaddy.

I have found that Go Daddy is more interested in showing their models off then giving the customers what they are looking for. Their website is slow and also too busy with unimportant information. You really have to look hard for what you want... unless you are buying something.

I agree with a lot that the reviews say here. Yellowsky is spot on with his review. Their site is a smozzle of minescule information, and whilst it is great chatting with friendly staff by phone, this isn't something I can do internationally due to time and money constraints. The email support system SUCKS! Over the five years I have used Godaddy, the email responses to questions are imbecilic to say the least. They just don't look at your problem at all. I am sure the emails system is a computer which looks for keywords in your support request and spits out templated paragraphs into a banal response. Others are correct - this is not for a hobby site builder like me. Unless you want to waste days on end filtering in circles through their site, and continuously repeating their instructions to no avail ... STAY AWAY!! After all my money and time, apart from the last phone support guy I spoke to, they're all just there to take your money.

The tech support is very knowledgeable about guiding you through the set up of user accessed settings. However, my FrontPage extensions that are supposed to take 30-45 minutes to load on the GoDaddy servers are still somewhere out in cyberspace after 30 hours time. I know that I could use FTP to load my web site, but I decided that this is an omen and to get out NOW. I am currently in the process of requesting a refund. If you want to spend a lot of time on hold and then talking to nice people who can't really get your issues resolved, then I guess GoDaddy is great. But I am taking my business elsewhere.

I'm confused as to why yellowsky7 said what he did about the site. Yes, I don't like the girls that they place everywhere but I choose them because of a friends referral and when I set up my site, it was a snap, web site is easy to use (I guess yellowsky7 is not computer savvy) and I had my site up and running in less than 1 hr, complete with database and everything. I have never had to talk to customer service and I have never noticed any downtime. To me having a host that is always up is most important. They do need to remove the clutter and the girls. That is the reason for the low mark on software.
