GoDaddy Review

After hosting with Godaddy for the better part of a year in a virtual dedicated server plan, I asked my developer to make some changes and upload these to my server at Godaddy. My developer and I each tried over a period of several days to gain such simple things as FTP and database access, but each attempt failed. GoDaddy chat support was a disaster. I spent days of long hours following instructions which never worked (sinc the passwords, reset this, go redo that, download different software and try with that, then wait 30 min. and repeat, all while being partially ignored). Godaddy refused to give me telephone support even after days of failure, saying I could only use chat. The chat techs would be different each time and engaged in multiple chats at once, so apparently not focused very well. Ultimately, it was easier and cheaper for me to abandon my pre-paid hosting contract and sacrifice that money to just get away from Godaddy. Customer service there is definitely lacking.

I have a blog/chat/forum and social network running. I must say I upgraded too many times as I remember and NO ONE plan finally was good. When the a hardware problem appear, the nightmare start. Even if they said to me they don't have any problem to change the hard disc (they don't know the age of hard disc, which I think most of them all old) the made me reprovision the server in order to change the hard disc and THEN they SAID they don't have any hard disc and I need it to Upgrade AGAIN!! They don't follow the thread of the e-mails. Some time you get someone who care of you, some time you have lucky and server don't collapse... You must KEEP AWAY of their HOSTING services. Obviously they have the hot chiks from their commercials working there...

Slowest mail ever and they ddnt allow 3rd party SMTP. Server sometimes down and slow!!!! So disappointed...

Well, according to Pingdom tools, my home page is slower than 86% sites. And all I have on it is one pic and five links on a blank page. I will go elsewhere, definitely.

Mainly it is always down, it is a nightmare if you are testing a website and you need constant updates to the code, as always connection times out. don't be fooled because it is cheap, pay a bit more so you save plenty of time

It's a tragic tale of a company that could have been great, but destroyed itself with an overkill of pushy and cheap marketing gimics. Thankfully I only purchased (1) domain through them and never again! I'm still hounded with their crap emails. If you wan't a nice alternative to goDaddy without the loud and invasive salesmanship, I highly recommend. namecheap.com. .

The company is terrific with marketing, but poor with execution. They over-promise and under-deliver in virtually every way. Their software platform isn't intuitive and their customer support seems remarkably incompetent. They're not technically proficient, at all. Moreover, their customer support reps seem generally misanthropic.

Customer support is horrible. Save yourself time and energy and use any other host.

My site has been down for more than 24 hours and I can't get any answers to why or when the server will be back up.

Years ago I uploaded my entire music collection with no problem. but over the years it has gotten so slow its unbearable. often my simple site takes minutes to load and I simply cant upload large files via ftp, a normal page will load but not larger files. they get canceled after moving along at a snails pace. I have to change hosts, geez. I got screwed! They recommended smaller files.
