Bought multiple domains & deluxe hosting plan on GoDaddy in 2007. Since then I was a loyal customer knowing that there are better hosting options. In the past 4 years I have opened roughly 9 incident tickets, out of those tickets 7 were opened between Jan 28, 2012 and Feb 12, 2012.For recent isssues I was told: 1. It is your code problem (not changed since 2007) 2. It is your incorrect htaccess file (nochange 2009) 3. It is the mysql database design that is causing the problem 4. The server may be having traffic issues 5. WE CANT HELP YOU AS WE CANNOT REPRODUCE THE ISSUE 6. SORRY to hear about the problem but our tests indicate no issue 7. It is your ISP (I tried Comcast, Verizon, ATNT) 8. Move to our new servers I took the advice#8 - opened a new hosting account with GoDaddy - could not login as the server was in a lock down mode and was not available for 72 hours - so I had a down site & new hosting account that I could not access. Moved to a new hosting vendor - ALL good Now

Godaddy was good 15 years ago. They are now overpriced and play games with your account. Watch your credit card! They are also known to cancel your hosting in order to hit you with a $150 restore fee. Backup your site and switch to another company asap!

They stole from me for months then refused to refund or do any research to validate my claims when the logs are in their systems. The website is made to be confusing as possible, probably to help them cheat you. Go elsewhere, they're just thieves.

Godaddy is okay for domains but absolutely terrible for hosting/vps/dedicated services. If you want your emails on time dont go godaddy under any circumstances. They use relay servers that you are REQUIRED to use for shared hosting, vps, and dedicated services. You DO NOT have a choice to use your own email server. Their relays are CONSTANTLY queued and it is "normal" for your emails to be delayed by up to 4 hours. Excuse me, but 4 hours was acceptable in 1995, not 2012. My customers want their emails within a reasonable timeframe and having 30% of all emails take from 5-90 minutes to receipt is despicable. Free email services have vastly better email service than their shitty paid service. Look elsewhere if you are looking for more than just a personal website. Im currently transferring over my domains and hosting to another provide. Godaddy is refusing to transfer some domains through "technicalities". Time to contact ICANN!

GoDaddy hosting proves the old adage that you get what you pay for. The price is great, as long as you don't want your site to, you know, actually be accessible by anyone. Too often I have gone through this game of customers/partners calling me to say they can't access our site, then I verify it and call GoDaddy only to be told that "It works fine for us!", after which I must press them for 20 minutes before they run some mysterious other test to find out "Oh yes, there is a problem". Then they will fix it in about an hour and my site will work ok for about a week, after which the process repeats. I ask them about the 99.9% uptime guarantee; but their excuse is that it is only for "Network connectivity", not site uptime. How is that supposed to help me? If my customers can't access it then it is down, end of story. GoDaddy is good for registering domains, but I highly recommend avoiding their hosting service

I have SSL certs and some domain auth through godaddy. I've had SSL certs expire one year early. When I called support to find out what happened they directed me to where I find the cert on the site and told me that the cert credit had expired... didn't understand that at all. I had to re-request the cert using the existing CR. guess maybe I'm peeved about the SSL cert just up and expiring when it still had a year left. Support was helpful but felt condescending like I was a dummy. I would not recommend Godaddy unless you are broke and don't care about quality of product and/or service

I must be the rare exception because I have been a customer of Godaddy since 2002 -- for TEN YEARS -- and I have not had but one problem in all those years. My email accounts got deleted/removed from my account once. But other than that, I have mostly received great technical support with maybe 3 exceptions out of 20, my sites haven't gone down but once in the early years after I became a customer, and my email transmits quickly the overwhelming majority of the time. No, Godaddy isn't perfect, but neither is any other host in this price range. I host more than 15 domains on my account, 25 email accounts, 10 forwards, 18 MySQL databases--all for around $5 a month. I've gone from coding in HTML, PHP & MYSQL from scratch to Joomla to WordPress, and Godaddy accommodates everything I need. From time to time I look around and compare other top-ranked web hosts to what I have, and I still haven't found any that look to be worth leaving for. I can't remember but one instance in the last decade where tech support was anything less than extremely helpful and friendly. I was with 1And1.com before that, which sucked something serious, and I've managed sites for clients on Arvixe, BlueHost, and WebHostingHub, and I didn't find any of those to be superior to Godaddy. I recommend Godaddy very highly and I really can't explain how I can have had such a trouble-free 10-year history with them while so many others claim to have so many problems and consider them to be so terrible. Guess I'm just blessed. :)

I found their platform very unstable; tech support was so-so: but the major issue is that they do not backup your web site adequately when you use their own Web building tools. I lost a great deal of money. I am not recommending this company to anyone...period.

Godaddy is the absolute worst, I just had a customer service person fight with me to tell me the problem with our website is with the ISP not them...only to ask for (demand, since he refused at first) a manager who then disclosed that they were having problems with one of their serviers...that they know of it, but then can't guarantee when or if it will be resolved. WTF? I have a website that works sometimes but not all the time and they think that is okay? Word of advice for small business owners, GoDaddy is not user friendly and they can care less about how their problems impact your business/bottom line. I recommend finding a technically competent, customer service focused company, which clearly they are not.
