BAIT AND SWITCH SLEEZE BAGS-a pox on their house

These guys are good at having honed the fine art of milking the trusting customer. And more than nickel and dimeing This is the latest: Emailing us a couple months before our 'account renewal is due' pressuring us more and more for renewal money as 'the date' lurks nearer. I turns out that our account expires in a YEAR from now and NOT now. THEY were about to pull the money out of our account a year early. Last I heard, stealing money out of one's bank account is illegal. BTW,, FatCow seems to have stuffed all the domains above this one..EVEN this one has a FC ad at the top. Stay well away.. You have been warned FAT COW FAT CHANCE

Web Trap

Our company inherited a domain and hosting with Fatcow and that was where our problems all begin. They will do anything to get a buck out of your pocket and their answer is always the same: It is going to take 24 to 48 hours for us to resolve the problem. The result: you will have your business without website and email for a long time until their so- called "technical support team" can put their mess together and do something. I just want to say DO NOT USE THEM! That's all.

Domain transfer very slow

For historical reasons we were using FatCow to develop a new site before combining it with others on the InMotion account. No particular technical problems, except that FTP response (Filezilla)always seemed sluggish - the actual transfer of data was ok, but changing folders could take seconds to happen My real unhappiness was the transfer to the new registrar - always a problem because the 'losing registrar' has to cooperate. FatCow's domain management in CPanel is good - you can unlock the domain and get the auth key easily. However, after getting the process under way with InMotion, no acknowledgement from FatCow, no email inviting me to 'expedite' the transfer. One is always told that registrar transfer can take up to 7 days. My understanding is that if the losing registrar does not block the transfer it will happen automatically after 5 days. But he can block it. On day 8, nothing, so I contacted them and gave them a hard time, threatening to phone them the next day to shout at them if nothing happened. Two hours later the transfer completed. It gives a bad impression.... The moral is that is these web host jokers - any company - drag their feet, we need to bawl them out. No-one likes dealing on the phone with an angry customer

New to internet development

I'm new to web development. I researched web hosting sites and FatCow was one of the top hosting sites. I have no regrets. I've talked to Tech support a couple of times with good results.

Would NOT use them again.

I signed up with FatCow because their low prices were attractive, but beware, that price is only for the first year. After that, they raised my hosting fee over 3 times the amount and automatically charged my credit card without notifying me. When I complained that raising the rate over 3 times the amount was ridiculous, they basically said too bad. So I told them at the end of my already paid year of hosting to cancel my account so I could go elsewhere. Well, 2 1/2 weeks before my year contract ends they cancel my account and take my website down! Then they said they won't put it back up unless I sign up for another year. Yeah right! I will never use them again and don't reccomend you do either.
