Yahoo Review
"I currently use Yahoo Webhosting and the PHP is so outdated, no Apache commands are allowed, nothing. Everything has to be basic. I can't even support Elgg. I can only support PHP Nuke and PHP Fusion"

can no longer recommend Yahoo
"i used to use GeoCities before they were picked up by Yahoo, then finally upgraded to a pay account about a year ago. i've had much more trouble updating my site since i started paying the monthly charge, and their email support gets back to me sometime between 2-6 days. just this evening, i tried to make a small change to some text on my site, and now they've "encountered an error." this was after i had to play some trial-and-error to even find the correct site for me to log in -- the previous address did not list my pay account at all. unfortunately, i've already paid for this month's "service," but as soon as possible, i'm switching to someone else. there's just no need to throw away money for substandard quality when there are so many other players in the game."

Yahoo Web Hosting
"If you want to create a pretty website with fairly static content & limited backup/recovery, Yahoo is probably ok for you. But if you want to run a small business site, be wary, especially of backup/recovery. Also examine carefully your ability to manage files & run application programs on their server. Functionality is basically limited to what you see in their tools & cannot be extended beyond what you see. Personally, I would not create a real business website on Yahoo."
