Two years with them and it keeps getting worse
" Customer support is nothing but a complete hassle. If you have a problem they send back an email stating they need something...when you send that they say they need something else. If you order domain privacy they take ten days to activate it but still charge you for the time it wasn't activated. If you have an issue with a payment and provide proof...they still argue that they are right. Do not use them. You've been warned. "

Lousy host
" It seems that most hosting companies sales page, are riddled with lies. Dot 5 for example says unlimited websites, but the fact is when you join you can build one site the rest you pay additional $$ per year/ per site! Plus you have to pay $$for privacy per year. When I uploaded my files the site didn't display properly and the so -called html editor in their v-deck control panel couldn't even add a simple hyperlink to a email address."

not reliable. at all.
"dot5hosting is not really good, and it is far not the best, to make it short. I used it for my business project for 2 years and it was down for 12 hours more than 2 times and the email server was down more than 4 times. The most recent email failure was about 2 weeks ago for over 24 hours (FTW!!!). My business was paralyzed for more than a day! These problems cost money, people!"

Dot5hosting - poor service combined with surprise changes
" I have been with this company for one year. Have seen a security breach - which they said did not occur - then in two months they changed every account's password - without warning (unless you count the email 18 hours after the change). Of course they only will say there are online criminals they need to stay ahead of... Think you have to be ahead to stay ahead. FTP login was changed (no longer asks for a login) but has excess verbage, includind a repeat of their warning on staying ahead of online criminals, and contains protected words - and blows older equipment that is not expecting such garbage right out of the water. When reported they seemed to be unfamiliar with why this might be a problem. System downtime is excessive, engineering is relatively poor, technical support is amature hour. Software with the subscription and disc space are the only positives. Leaving fast - not a trustworth partner. "

Horrible
"I've been with dot5 for several months and have been appalled by how bad their customer service and reliability really is. My site has been down for sveral days at a time in spite of their technical assistants "working hard to resolve the issue." I do not understand how dot5 can legally post statistics of 99.9% uptime among their customers. If that really is true, my case certainly deserves the title of statistical anomaly. The way their techs give ridiculous automated responses and show no interest or care about me as a customer is unacceptable. I would have left them long ago if it weren't for their low prices and superficial guarentees. And when I did finally decide to cancel my account, they made it impossibly difficult to do so. I have never seen a company that made their profit-seeking intentions so obvious as dot5hosting. If it was my decision, dot5hosting inc. would be eliminated from the webhosting world."
